Go Rockies!

Seamus' hat got to root, root root for the home team.

Izabel's school had a night at the Rockies ballgame last night.  We got free tickets for the Rockpile but even if we had paid for the tickets, the parking, or even one small cup of soda would have cost more than one ticket!  I have never watched a game from the Rockpile and what an experience - and mix of humanity (let's just say if an officer wanted to up their count for possession, or public smoking tickets that's the place).
Kids enjoyed the game and there were a couple of good plays and, most important, the good guys won.  I tried to explain the rules to Izabel thinking "It's baseball - it's pretty simple." But once I started I realized how complex the basics are.  So there I am with a diagram "There is a guy at first, one at second...the guy at bat..." "Mom, why do you assume that it's a guy?"  No fooling her.  I also told her about doing 'the wave' at an opera in Verona, Italy.
The kids had a funnel cake and really?!? the booth selling funnel cakes all covered in powdered sugar had NO NAPKINS! and never did.  She couldn't even point me in the direction of a napkin.

We had at least two people ask us about the name Seamus, and one more to add to our "Did you go to the zoo today?  That's what your hat says" count.

To top the day off Seamus fell right into a puddle of icky water and there was a terrible traffic jam on the way home.  The wonderful guy behind us bonked our car when I let a few people in in-front of me. No damage except to my mood.

  1. Seamus' hat gets to go through the wash today after he dragged it all over the floor of the stadium.
